Next Stop, Philadelphia!

A senior project that was designed by a group of 8 seniors!

For this project, we designed an exhibit that showcased the history and culture of the city of Philadelphia to children. We hoped that by engaging with our educational games, crafts, and activities, kids could experience the culture and history of the city in an age-appropriate, yet exciting way.

As the project manager...

During the 6 months period, I was mainly working as a Project Manager. However, I also took secondary positions as a Game Designer and 3D Artist --- here are some of my main responsibilities and achievements:

Project Management

Led the team to finish the project within six months from design to execution

Specified milestones, deliverables, presentations, and requirements to keep team members in the expected development stages

Worked with different leads (Art, CS, UI, Game Design, Marketing, Product Design) to adjust the designs as well as implement new features

Time Management

Created project timelines and made sure to meet our milestones while being able to present various project deliverables

Created team schedules and calendars, managed and adjusted meeting and testing schedules

Used agile methodology to enhance efficiency and flexibility during the development and testing stages

Team Management

Worked with different leads and encouraged communication and coordination between team members

Hosted meetings and activities to review team performance while collecting feedback for future improvement

Kept up with each team member through open communication to avoid unnecessary conflicts

Event Management

Coordinated with different leads to confirm the final deliverables, including the budget list, setup plan, floor plan, exit survey, etc

Led the team to secure a $3600 total fund through fundraising and project promotion

Managed the team on the day of the exhibit, including monitoring safety guidance, creating rotating schedules, maintaining exhibit order, etc

Organization

Organized team files and meeting notes in Microsoft Teams

Organized and analyzed different playtesting feedback based on our target audience

Kept up with the XR lead and the Product Design lead to update the master list, including the status of our craft materials, digital devices, physical installations, etc

Art & Design

Created and textured 3D assets for our digital games

Brainstormed with the game design team to determine the core game mechanics, gameplay, controls, and designs; implemented new features based on the play-testing feedback

Created promotional material, including posters, flyers, social media posts, etc
